I'm shamelessly jumping on the tarp bandwagon. I've looked at various but all polycotton / canvas tarps seem eye-wateringly expensive, except for this one from Obelink -

Does anyone have this ? Looks great value to me

I'm pretty certain one of the regulars has that very same tarp. I have a sneaking suspicion it may be dk168, but don't quote me on that!

If that's the case, I suspect all the help, advise and honest opinion you're after will soon be forthcoming... she's one of the most helpful, on here!

Yes we do... and so does DK168.

Great value for money and excellent service at Obelink. The two poles that come with the tarp are good and strong but invest in better pegs.

If you follow DK168, like we have, you'll find yourself buying more guy lines and karabiners before the day is out.

I have this tarp, bought it last year on the recommendation of another UKCS member, but have not yet used it.

It does look very good quality for the price.

Currently it is sitting in our trailer ready for the off tomorrow morning, we are hoping to use it this week if our pitch is large enough to create a shelter outisde our Cabanon Espace 8.

If I do get to use it, I shall post pics!

We also have one, a couple of adjustable poles come in handy with it too, they give you more options, its a great Tarp though

Indeed I have one, good memory peeps and thanks for the kind words!

Here's a pic of my good weather set up, tarp only with no windbreak.

The extra poles in the front came from my last tent that died in the wind in 2011.

I use karabinas on the hook up and pegging points now, so that it can be taken down with much less effort without having to dig out the pegs.

The tarp is a good piece of kit.

BTW, the tarp is ok for light showers, however, it will let through tiny specs of water during a heavy down pour, so it is not 100% water-proof.

Thanks for that info. I think plan B comes into play, which is make my own from proper canvas or save like a trooper for a Tatonka :S Scottish weather demands waterproof tarp.
