If he had wrapped himself around a table leg, it might have damaged his neck and really frightened him.
Can I ask how cold it was at night, I'm debating whether or not to get my bedlington x whippet lurcher, looks like a mini deerhound) a fleecy coat to wear at night as he is a complete wimp when it comes to cold or wet.
It wasn't cold at night and Otto isn't 'nesh' so it wasn't really applicable on this trip. On previous trips with our greyhound I always took 2 coats, 1 thin fleece for slightly cold nights, and a big quilted coat for the cold nights. As we camp from Easter to October we have had some VERY cold nights and the old grey wore both coats some nights, the fleece as an under coat then the big quilted coat!!! It's easy to tell if they are too hot as they start panting in the night :)
Overall, in summer it's not really a problem, but early and late season coats are useful. Having said that, they aren't expensive so it's worth having one just in case!
