Yes a normal travel cot for us too. We had a "Phil and Teds" brand which is super compact for in the tent - some brands are huge and not very practical for camping (depending on size of your tent).
When that age my daughter usually wore a baby vest and sleepsuit, then a fleecy sleepsuit/ all-in-one then went in her her normal "Gro bag" type sleeping bag that we used from home. Then blankets, hat etc as necessary - it can get very cold, especially early and late in the season! We didn't bother with a baby camping type sleeping bag and not sure how safe they are for little babies, if the wriggle down inside etc.
We used this set up until our daughter was 18m/2yrs when she outgrew the travel cot. She is now 2.5 and she has just graduated to a SIM and junior sleeping bag this season. Our new baby, due in October, will be using the same travel cot and "Gro bags", it worked well for us!
Enjoy, our daughter absolutely loves camping now.
