We wear clothes several times when camping. Most things are not dirty after one wear and can easily be worn again often 3 or 4 times. My son would wear the same every day if I did not take his clothes away and make him wear something else Whatever I wear on the beach the first time we go I then reserve for the beach and wear every time no point in getting anything else sandy and sea watery. So far we have always taken enough underwear for clean every day, don't need so many socks if wearing sandals or crocs. Going for 24 nights soon and will need to use the on site laundry facilities
For trips of 2 or 3 weeks, we take enough underwear and T shirts for 2 thirds of the time, then about half way through I do a machine wash, those things when clean will finish the holiday. We tend to take the same scruffy clothes every time, they start out pressed but hey, it's camping, and no one knows us!
Having had a little girl come on her first Cub camp at the weekend with just 2 changes of clothes and ran out of clean stuff Saturday afternoon because she was wet and muddy, I would say take an extra change of clothes (although most of us aren't cheeky 8 year olds)
I've invested in these and the bigger ones, when packing you'd be suprised how much stuff you can get in 1 bag, helps to keep the tent tidier and no need for extra bags or rucksacks to put he clothes in.
Backpacking for the weekend I will take 3-4 shirts...A change of underwear for each day and one extra pair of trousers...In case the ones I am wearing get wet...Or past the point of no return mucky wise....
I usually sleep in my clothes so look a bit crumpled in the morning before I change (If I change) I also like to try and keep a shirt for the trip home on the bus As I tend to sit round a fire quite a lot on my trips....And have been getting funny looks from fellow passengers when I climb on the bus smelling like a kipper...

We took my cricket hold all filled with clothes, shoes and towels last trip. This trip we're taking a bigger cricket bag so we can fit the sheets and pillows in there as well
One thing I've learned over time is that lightweight synthetic wicking tops just need a rinse under the tap (or a stream) to clear away the sweat and dry out very quickly. I've taken to taking 3 for a weeks camping, plus maybe one 'nicer' top for a meal out.
Lightweight walking trousers that zip off into shorts anddry very quickly. Fleece, fleece fleece, crocs and t shirts.
if it is colder the fleece lined walking trousers get used and the boots. The kids have pacaway type waterproofs.

Absolutely, we take lots of cloths on trip and bring them back unworn and they just increase the load of luggage. I would like to suggest you to check website of designerforum they provide a guide on selecting the cloths for trip.
