To all the wonderful campers and staff at Wild Duck who dropped everything when they found out our 2 year old granddaughter had wandered off. Two wee girls found her wandering about in the woods with not a care in the world, relishing her freedom probably, and totally oblivious to the panic she had created.
Now I know what real relief feels like.
I would also like to thank whoever found and handed in my brand new camera I had just received for my 60th birthday. I didn't notice it was missing until I arrived home on Saturday. the staff posted it on to me and it arrived today.
Argh, a wandering toddler - nightmare! Glad she was found and was not upset. Makes you want to attach them to stout elastic though... with that and the camera you seem to have had a worrying time. I hope the rest of the trip was less eventful!
------------- Always edited for sloppy typing - when I spot it!
OMG, I cant imagine how you felt. The first time we took our toddler grandson camping he fell on gravel and a piece of stone pierced his forehead - I've never seen so much blood! Panic doest describe it. Luckily it wasnt as bad as it seemed once cleaned up. I can totally feel your relief.
OMG know how you feel.my granddaughter was 5yrs when I let go of her hand in a shopping centre, as the lady in front of me collapsed due to a fit. You cannot describe the panic. She was sitting on the Noddy car behind us, oblivious like you say. SO pleased all was well with you and her.
There is no panic like the panic you feel when you momentarily lose sight of your child. I can't imagine the panic you must have felt actually losing her properly for a while.
