Hi all,

Thanks to some great advice on this forum our first camping trip was a great success even with being kept awake at 4am due to the heavy downpour and thunderstorm.

We stopped at Haven blue dolphin and although the basic tent area was quite sloped we arranged the tent to minimise any discomfort in sleeping.

It was a Haven site so i wasnt expecting silence but a group of about 8 (with a single teenage child) liked to make themselves heard with constant swearing and a pair of couples stopping together with a young child where the fathers parenting technique was shouting "Shut the **** up" at his crying toddler which was the only downside but they all left on the second day so we got a more family friendly last day.

The entertainment and pool made the place great for the kids and despite it being summer holidays the place was never overly full.

now we were looking to travel a bit further afield for a longer period as i get 21 days off work starting the 14th August i would like to attempt at least a full 7 nights (possibly 10) but would like to have the comfort of the haven site... would this mean sticking to Haven?

both daughters 6 & 2 love swimming so that was a big plus and the evening entertainment meant the eldest made a couple of friends.

we are hoping to do London Zoo in the holidays as its somewhere i have always wanted to do but this could be a separate day(s) out when not camping

any advice on places to look into for a great time with kids as we are currently looking through the haven website and would like to be able to look elsewhere to get more options.

cheers

Try Park Resorts. Haven are the best at what they do, but park are similiar, just a lot more basic.

Oh, and I also find that as long as you go for non-ehu the tent areas are quite quiet and spacious.
