Been avidly reading for ages so will start contributing!
Me hubs and 2 girls aged 5 and 6 are off to emberton park near milton keynes next week. We live here so its close should the little on not get on too well....
Hubs has never been a camper save for a couple of odd night. I was a scout and very active with it and our family holibobs as s kid were always cornwall camping usually at budemeadows. 6 year old is now in beavers and been on 3 overnighters this year with no probs. My only concern is tye 5 year old who usually gets up twice for a wee so can see late night stumbles with her ahead!
We bought a kampa hayling 6 with footprint and carpet and have had a test run with hubs in garden. Will take sone getting used to.
Anyway just wanted to wave a hiya and look forward to chatting with you all
Bucket with wood based cat litter is our solution, although you could go all posh and buy a porta potti if you have the room to take one (we do not hence the small bucket)
If you don't want to invest in a 'loo' when our granddaughter comes camping with us we put a training toilet seat (the ones that are designed to sit inside a toilet seat) on to our usual 'cat litter' bucket makes it easier for her to use. It's a bit of a tight fit but does the job.
we use a bucket loo (basically a bucket with a loo seat and lid) that we bought from Go Outdoors...travelling too and from the campsite we use the bucket to store our gas canister and tent pegs in so there's no wasted space in the car and at the campsite we do as others do and line it with a plastic bag before adding some wood based kitty litter...

Hello new camper, welcome to our chat page.
Yep we use wood based cat litter too for night times.
Best make I buy is at Home Bargains. Bought others but not as absorbent. Line bucket then its easy in the morning. Bought folding bucket too
hello new camper - we were similar when starting out again - I did all the beavers, cubs, scouts and went everywhere then stopped. Back into it now in a big way with now a 11 year old boy and 9 year old girl.
Strong torch and have flip flops/crocs at the door ready to go.
Hope you all have a great time.
