Go outdoors are showcasing some videos that may or may not help people, pack tents away (this one is funny), cooking with Josh, waterproofing tents etc plus you can submit questions to be answered.
I know the GO can be knocked but videos can be a great way to see how things can or cant happen when camping.
Just wish the tent manufacturers would show case their tents when wind/rain testing so you can see how much they can take.
Especially when saying you should use a peg puller but "as I'm strong can do this with my hands" and then SNAP - I'm glad they did not re-edit that as at least it keeps it realistic to what does happen if you don't do things correct.
------------- 2014
Family camping various places and loads of wild camping.
A good trial (assuming it stayed dry inside and without damage) however, the guy ropes were anchored down to the platform. In reality they would of course be anchored down with pegs, and a true trial would use the pegs supplied with the tent. If one guy rope came adrift it could compromise the whole tent. I would prefer to see a test done in a field rather than in controlled conditions.
The Montana rain test was filmed by myself years ago, it was more to show how strong the tent was. I think we all know if conditions were like this and the tent was pegged out as per normal there's a good chance the pegs would pull out and yes, it was bone dry inside after the test, I was amazed I have to say.
