Well I could have told you that years ago I've always used a fan heater on low when necessary and never ever had condensation in any tent I've camped in.

I don't know how long you've been at Rivington mrsf-red but the weather's not been that bad - a bit of rain on Thursday which had cleared up by 11am so it was only yesterday and this morning that it's done anything much, and I'm less than three miles from Rivington, just over the other side of Winter Hill

Admittedly, there's only two of sleeping in a polycotton bedroom inside a polycotton tent, but even the table surfaces etc, be it inside the tent, or even outside under a tarp, have been nice and dry first thing in the morning, despite the grass being wet through. No damp matches, despite being left by the cooker outside. Same goes for the inside of the loo bucket lid (not so in colder climes!) and any clothes lobbed over a chair overnight, in the living area. All nice and dry in the morning.

Don't take this as a dig, mrsf-red, I'm delighted all went well for you, of course... and although we didn't use a fan heater on these last 3 trips, I agree they are a God-send, and use them regularly at other times of the year.

Was more thinking out loud, and wondering what others have experienced in the way of condensation through "an average UK summer"?
