I guess, as with everything, there are both negative and positive opinions.
We bought the Handirack/Holdall last year and whilst we've only used it once we had no issues whatsoever and will definitely be using it on all future trips.
As it was our 1st attempt we didn't overfill the bag and again only put sleeping bags, pillows, fleeces etc but will definitely be using it for more items next time - although I doubt we'd put the chairs in it.
We'd read several reviews on here before purchasing and can only say how pleased we were with it.
Congratulations DandB on winning the competition - I'd entered but as I didn't win I went out and bought one instead
never had a problem , first time a few minor scratches , but that was probably down to fitting not quite right , i put a towel down first , all in all i would recomend to anyone
We brought one in 2012 and it's been resigned to the loft. We had the same problems as Fay Fife with dents in the roof and scratches as well as water into the interior. The hold all was fab. But we have now gone to roof bars for the car. A friend also borrowed the for his company car (strict rules no roof bars or tow bar) and had the same problem.

I would recommend the x-rack for a soft roof rack option. Doesn't matter if you have curtain airbags and doesn't come in through the windows. Used it this year carrying the tent on the roof and it was perfectly stable and we remained dry during downpours. I have the stealth model which is 70mm wide, have now paired it with a thule ranger 90 which at 90mm does overhang a bit but with light and bulky items has coped perfectly fine. My car is a skoda roomster without roof rails and only other option would be a costly retrofit which does not have a good quality track record.
