Does anyone else own one of these? The burners are fantastic but the grill plates seem to only have one setting: nuclear. Can't even cook a burger on them without having to flip the thing ever 5 seconds. Any tips for using these properly? Otherwise I'll save the weight and leave them at home.
I cannot comment on this model but most camping stoves I've ever used tend to have very poor adjuster valves that are on full for most of their travel with only a very fine few degrees of turn where low power can be achieved. It can be difficult to find the "sweet spot", but can be done. Is this not the case with these new Campinggaz stoves?
I'm interested in them as I like the sales pitch given about the burners being "efficient" and thus using less gas. I'm therefore interested in any feedback as to whether this is actually the case or just marketing speak.
The burners do seem to boil a kettle quicker than my old stove but as you say, adjustability isn't great. Fine for pasta or a fry up but no gentle simmer!
We have now had two of these. The latter started to leak from a sealed joint throwing flames. Camping gaz response was oh dear we haven't had this problem with anyone else return to retailer and get a refund, despite it being out of warranty. Go outdoors response was anyone hurt and please bring it back. Emailed camping gaz to say how disappointed we were with the difference in reply and have had no comment after a week. Do not buy these stoves they are dangerous
We had a 400 one too its the same as the 600 but no grill. I don't know if you are aware but you are suppose to put water inside the grill plates I am not sure why that is though, but ours worked perfectly

we have the Campingaz Xcelerate 400ST and have found that the best way to get a low heat on the burners is not to have the knobs turned right over to the left (the official low heat setting), but once lit, turn the knobs back to the right, as close as possible to the off position...that way you can get get things cooked without burning...

This could happen to a stove from any manufacturer...
What did you want?... A bunch of flowers and apology personally delivered from the ceo of campingaz? Lol
