Hi Jayne. Have a look at the meeting up and getting together forum, solo and single parent forum. I am a single older parent so my children (27 and 29) only come with me occasionaly but bring their own tents now and their hubby's/wives!
I'm not a single parent but I do camp alone with my boys as my husband works 6 days a week and doesn't like camping.
If you put your location you might find some other campers to meet up with.
Just become recently seperated from my wife and still want to go camping with my kids ( kids ? 18 and 21 ). I still go and they seem to enjoy it more without their Mum because she didn`t like it much. My point is doesn`t matter if you have your partner, Wife or husband with you we enjoy it whatever.Just say hi to other campers as you pass and you never know it may be me
My kids are 19 and 21 now and I raised them on my own and it was a wonderful experience with the high points being when we were camping, we had many years in Wales and the North of England and all three of us cherish the memories.....
I was widowed when son was 7 so we went camping - he still goes on his own or with me if we're able to. Admit I felt very hesitant first time on my own not long after hubby's death but son ended up playing with loads of other kids his age and that got parents talking. Gave us both a great boost - I'd encourage anyone to give it a go.

Single with 2 boys eldest get up really early as he likes to get to the showers before they get busy. Youngest normally up a 6am at home sleeps like a log and we normally have to wake him up
I am a single dad with a 7 year old who has been nagging me to take him camping! Nearly finished getting all the gear, hoping to have one trip this year as a trial run for a fun packed 2015 with him!

I am a single Dad and have been taking my kids camping for about 4 years now. They love it and so do I. I also manage to get away on my own without them and enjoy both types of camping ;one with the emphasis on the kids and the other solo camping very rare now is it solo camping since forming our solo/single parent group !!
Have met lots of campers who have become good friends and get to go camping at every opportunity like I say with and without the kids. Our next one being the Halloween meet at Skipton
Like Campy C says it doesn't matter if you have a partner or not, just get out there and enjoy it I'm so glad I did it years ago
