Don't be too disheartened Bridgey, the non-camping time is when I reassess what might come in handy next time we camp, especially if it can be had for a reasonable price.
I was tempted to garden camp last week, hubby was away for two nights, all the gnats in my garden put me off though

Where are my manners: that's wonderful Jo March, I hope you have a lovely lovely well-deserved holiday next year. You kept the faith
Thank you. I have children you could borrow. Minimum term is 2 weeks!
In fact I have an idea, let's swap husbands for a bit, I have jobs that need doing round the house and a husband who would happily sit on his arse in a tent all day as long as it has EHU and Sky go!

Do you think I could 'rent a child' to go away with???
You can have mine if you want, he is 10 and pretty much looks after himself. You just need to provide food occasionally and point him in the direction of teeth brushing
I've been giggling away at this thread. I'm a newbie, not even got a tent yet but looking out for one (used to own a caravan and loved camp sites) My man has shown no interest in my camping venture and I know when it comes down to it he'll probably be home alone. On the plus side I've got an older teen lad who really enjoys camping so at least he'll help with the tent. I can't wait for random weekends away, packing up the car whilst the kids are at school and 'right we're off'. I've got a huge shopping list and even though he has no interest, he will be contributing towards my shopping list (he'll have no choice!!!) It's really good to see that there are others like me out there

Mucker wash your mouth out!! I didn't offer to rent mine he can be had for free
I take it all back, seeing as living with my OH who has been known to behave like a five-year old (sulks if I'm watching something he doesn't like, demands certain foods, drops towels and clothes on the floor and falls asleep by 8pm) I might just be qualified to look after children. But, I'm sure they'd miss their mums
And, much as I have complained, I'm kind of used to my spouse and his ways, so TARTS anonymous might be redundant. Although it seems Vicky might be another potential member...
Welcome Vicky and keep the faith, it will sustain you through winter months. I have a dream ...
