Hi all, I have got and used a kyman Marseille 9xl.Great tent but there are no rain covers/eyebrows over doors.Cannot leave doors open in rain as they are slanted and it lets rain in.We used a gazebo last week and put it over front extension and it worked a treat.Im wondering if anybody out there knows of a canopy or extension I could use instead.I have found Coleman Coastline Deluxe Porch which I think this is what im after ,but its says it zips on.Any ideas.Like I said tent is great ,apart from this small design issue

Hi
The Coleman coastline front porch and canopy both zip on to the tent

The Coleman porch and canopy would require the matching zip on the tent, which your khyam tent will not have. So I do not think this is an option for you.

I could not find an image of your tent so cannot advise what other canopy would fit. If your tent is of a similar width to many modern tents, you should be able to find a side extension (i.e. one that has the material flap that lies across the top of the tent and guys down the far side) that may fit. If your tent has metal poles go for one that is designed for a metal pole tent. If you tent has fibreglass poles go for one designed for that type of tent. This will ensure that the right sort of slope exists on the rear of the canopy to avoid a large gap between the canopy and the tent.

Front extensions are more difficult as they tend to clip to the poles of the tent for added security. You need to find one that has appropximately the same width and height as your tent and would sort of work with your poles. Vango did some universal ones a few years back that had an elasticated back edge that fitted behind the front pole of the tent and was guyed tight to the ground (at an angle away from and back along the tent to keep it in position). These are very flexible if you can find one with a size not too dissimilar from your tent.

Love our set-up and need no more tents or gear, so trying to stop looking!

I use a quechua tarp as a porch/cover for my Galileo 5.
Works a treat and provides a decent amount of room out front. It has stood up to a fair bit of wind and heavy rain too. It's been a brilliant addition to my camp set up.
