just out of interest after noticing some probs with closing the door..........you are all pegging and roping it out with the door CLOSED aren't you? just reads as if you're doing the opposite and trying to close the door after the pegging and roping has been done.

i have a second tent,a jamet roma 6,which is pretty much the same in design,and that must have the door closed whilst pegging out etc otherwise its a near break-camp to get the thing to its proper shape and tension at the front.

How we erect our Vario 5

1 We lay out the tent and unzip the front door , for some reason there seems very little give in that end when bending the pole into the rings.

2 Threading poles starting from the back, we bend them into the rings laying each consecutive hoop on top of the previous until all hoops are bent and in place and lying ontop of each other.

3 We pick them all up together and walk the whole tent into position ,where we want the back of the tent to be.

4 I hold the tent up right at my side and OH pegs down the back hoop, then he comes round to his side and together we walk the tent out hoop by hoop to the front.He then pegs the front down the tent is in effect up.

5 He then zips the front door up and stretches each hoop back to the front and then repegs the front to get that tight look to the tent.Then pegs the rest of the guy lines.

6 We fit the horizontal side poles into place then make any adjustments with the straps and its then time for a cuppa or a cold one and the jobs a good un.

the mushroom shaped headed pegs are for the ground sheet,our lokon vario 4 was a b****r to put up the first time as well
