I used to camp regularly until 2010 (which I think is when I last posted on here) then various things happened - split up with wife, had a serious illness and it just wasn't possible to camp - set up and take down is quite tiring, especially being so ill.

However over the last couple of years I've camped a few times at a local site and still thoroughly love the life.

After a few more changes - I am better now, I have a new partner (ex wife and I still great friends) and this year I intend to get back to enjoying camping - I'm not going to push things and I'm aiming for 2 "proper" jaunts this year.

ONe thing I've noticed is the prices have massively increased though, the site I used to use most often was costing me 14.00 a night in 2010 and its 31.00 now!!

Still its an excue to explore new places I guess. I still have my holiday abroad in the summer as well, I worked in travel for years and can't get rid of the bug but other than that I feel like I have returned to my favourite pastime!!!

elllooooo!! i only joined here last year. i love camping!! recovering a head injury (thats why spelling gets lost) and concussion syndrome. hopefi;;y back to it summertime!! sssshh don`t tell doc but having a less headachy day so having a drop of mulled wine!!!!!

For the last few years I've only been able to do one trip. It's complicated in that I have a holiday let that I do the changeover day for, plus arranging camping around my kids activities and them wanting to hang out with their friends during the school holidays, my camping has been restricted.

This summer I'm hoping to get to the Cotswolds as my youngest is in her final year of school so once the exams are out of the way we'll have more freedom.

Of course, next year my teens will be old enough to leave at home alone so I can get some solo camping done, apart from the dog, he has to come
