I have said it before, and shall say it again: if I were to wait until the weather is good/favourable in this country before I do anything, then I may not be doing anything at all.
The skin is waterproof, mine as well as the dog's. Just need some good gear and be prepared for the worst, and I can camp any time of the year.
One needs to experience the bad weather in order to appreciate the better days, IMHO.
