Just put up our new tent in the garden and gave it the once over.
Everything seems fine, apart from when I packed it up, I noticed a couple of small holes in the sewn-in groundsheet on the underside of the tent.
On further inspection, the other side is where the bedrooms clip onto the groundsheet. The ground is double skinned at this point, so I'm guessing this is part of the manufacturing process.
Has anyone noticed this on their tents? I suppose it is unlikely that anything would get inside that area of the tent (they're away from the edge), but I'm tempted to put a band-aid on it all the same.
I am not quite sure what I am looking at although there does seem to be two tiny black dots on the first photo consistent with needle holes. A tiny circle of Tenacious Tape will fix it, or even a spot of seam sealant.
The area underneath the bedroom pods is rarely examined, especially if the pods are in situ on the first erection. Some years ago I just happened to spot a tiny hole in the groundsheet underneath the bedroom pod on one of my tents, possibly from a thorn on the pitch although it could have been there from new. All I had available at the time was an Elastoplast so I stuck one over the hole and forgot about it. It remained there forever until I spotted it again just before selling and had to do a quick invisible repair with Tenacious Tape.
If you're laid back, leave it, but "keep your eye on it".
If you then notice any water ingress , dry it out, then go with Bob's Tenacious Tape suggestion.
If you're nervy, then apply the Tenacious Tape now.
Simples.
PS:
When you cut your patch of Tenacious Tape, round off any edges before sticking it on. Square corners are more likely to "come unstuck"!

Thanks for the advice. I spoke to the company we bought from and they were familiar with holes and explained that it was caused by the machine that attached clips to the inside and reassured me it is not a problem.
I'll bear in mind the tenacious tape in the future though.
