I'm new to this camping lark and have almost made a decision on what tent to buy by looking on the internet and speaking to the knowledgeable Gary Cross but i'd really like to see some up close to get an idea of sizes.

I'm in SE London/Croydon way. CampingWorld at Horsham seems to be a good sized place but does anyone have any other recommendations?

Tbh I was going to reccomend camping world to you for the range they have also check out SK camping in Godstone.

St. Albans is one of the stores but think they have 2 or 3 stores

Not South London but Camping and General in Canvey Island have a good range set up indoors all year round . Load of camping stuff to look at there as well

You could try TAM leisure in New Malden.

They've never really got the hang of websites, but if you look them up on Googlemaps streetview you can go right inside the shop and have a nose around. I'm sure I was able to go upstairs (virtually) to see their tent display before, but last time I tried that wasn't an option. Difficult getting those Googlemaps camera vans up the stairs I suppose.

You have Go outdoors at lakeside and also camping international in gillingham kent. Ok a bit further but gives a bit more choice.

Thanks everyone. SK camping didn't have all their tents out but enough of each size for me to get a good idea of what I did and didn't want. I knew the style but it was the sizes I needed to see in the flesh as I have no spacial l awareness.

Have booked ticket to the camping show at NEC next week so should get my full fill of tents there i reckon!

You're in a similar area to us.

Decathlon now has a store on the Purley way next to sainsburys.

Camping world also has a store at Frensham, attached to a garden centre which has a coffee shop. We tend to go to the Horsham store then pop down the coast afterwards. Makes a day of it.

We only ever browse at SK these days.
