It's an interesting question and having done a lot of both tent camping and caravan camping, I'd say that my stress levels have had a lot more to do with the people I was with than the specifics of the equipment. Even significant difficulties and hardships can be overcome if you're with bright, cheerful people.
That being said, there can't be many things more stressful that turning up unprepared and hence I'm a great believer in the value of a good packing list, whether you're in a tent, caravan or camper. As the boy scouts say, be prepared.
