One year we stopped off at a new Travelodge at Wellington. It was reasonably priced and parking was quite safe

My thoughts now are leaning toward getting up at c. 4am and trying to do it in one go - without traffic we shiould clear Bristol by half seven, missing the worst of the traffic, hopefully.

The only question is whether or not DD will go back to sleep once she's in the car. It's 50:50. I suppose she will eventually ...

I think I might keep chainging my mind though.

Book a B&B in a village location. You wont have any problems.

Try Air B&B, there will be loads that are en route with nice safe parking.

knock on wood, but we've never had any trouble.
Similar trip, we stop in Bristol overnight and have a roof bag, and a wooden trailer towed behind the car.
each bit locked with a padlock, but no bikes.
