Only had one human theft - someone "borrowed" some of my tent pegs (Deltas) - if they'd bothered asking, I had plenty to spare! Fair does, they owned up (camping newbies) and returned my Deltas, gave them a set of basic pegs to keep and forgot about it. They obviously felt bad about it though as my mates brought back a bottle of wine (I'd left crack of dawn to get home) by way of apology Other removals have been down to firstly, my stupidity in leaving food about and secondly, the smartness of birds and livestock living round a campsite!
Normally camp as a group of friends attending events and we're all guilty of leaving chairs, tables out. The only time we've had an issue was coming back from a long day to find our equipment being occupied by other campers. That was interesting and dealt with. But that's almost unique on sites.
I don't have techie stuff like tvs etc with me - I'm a get away from it camper but I do have very expensive equipment to do with our hobby - that's always locked in the car.
Don't worry, just apply common sense to the expensive and easily portable stuff, deter the livestock by making sure food is not handy - the vast majority of campers are very honest and they can be observant - that's how I found out about my Deltas. Relax and enjoy!
