We recently purchased the Outwell palm coast 6 from GO. We finally managed to put it up today in my brothers garden. This is the first time ever, we've erected a tent and not fallen out!

The tent size is 5 meters x 9 meters. Would this be a issue at most campsites as it seems quite big. I've seen bigger tents!

Until very recently I had a 6 man tent and had no problems at campsites. However mine was only 4.20 x 5.20. Unless campsites stipulate that their pitch sizes will only accommodate a certain size of tent you shouldn't have a problem. The only possible problem (maybe) is that some campsites charge more for tents above a 4 man regardless of size.

Let them know in advance your tent size and then they can at least try to give the appropriate pitch.
I try to find pitches of 100 m2. They can vary in length and width but come to the same area.

Your actual tent is 6.1 x 3.8, so I don't think you should have a problem. We have a Croyde 6 which is 4.1 x 6.55 (7.3 with the vestibule on) but with guys is about 6.5 x 10. We haven't used it yet as we only bought it this year but have 4 campsites booked this year, I informed each site about the size of the tent and each one said it would be no problem.

I always ask a site what size their pitches are before we book, one thing to bare in mind is that although your tent may fit on the pitch most campsites insist you park your car on it as well, most also have the 6m gap rule between tents although this is tent to tent in most cases and does not include guy ropes, so technically the edge of your tent canvas needs to be 3m from the edge of your pitch.

You just need to pick your sites carefully and check with the site about additional fees etc.

Your tent is bigger than the footprint of my house, I think!

We do have an upstairs though. They've yet to design a 2-storey tent....
