Hey does anyone have any reccommendations for a 3 way fridge?
We bought a 2nd hand one locally but it appears to not be working.
I think its an older version of this: Here
Anyway Ive been looking online at reviews and even the ones with good reviews also have reviews saying that they have broken or not last long. It feels like its a gamble getting a camping fridge! :S
Our 3 way fridge is 20+ years old and still works fine.
Whatever it's run on it does have to be extremely level, such that we carry a small spirit level in our camping box!
Years ago we came across a family who had borrowed one and couldn't get it working......worked fine once it was level!
The Tristar fridge in your link does seem to get poor reviews. Dometic 3way fridges seem to go the distance, they were formally branded Electrolux & plenty of those are still in use.
I had a Sibr 3 way fridge for over 10 years until some poor deranged rats decided to eat it in the shed.
Bought a nice new Domestic RC1200 one a few years ago and it's colder, quieter, easier to light and I love it. I use it in the house when I'm not camping (on the electric) to keep the gin cold
Do you really need a 3 away, we got a Mobicool C40 (not B40) a couple of years back, and it is an absolutely brilliant camping Fridge, and works just the same as your fridge at home.
Of course it is 240v mains only, but most campsites provide electric these days.
Hi Newleah,I have that fridge when it's not been used for a while you need to turn it upside down for 10 second's or so then it will work(this is from instructions that come with fridge) and as Helen say's it does need to be level.
Thanks for your replies, hubby seems to off got it working now so can hold off buying a new one. I did see the DomesticRC1200 and reviews looked good for that one.
