We've never had an issue warming our 8 berth tent

Which heater do you use TracyD?
I struggled with my Nevada M the last couple of times over the New Year, we stayed in bedroom pod, no issue as the bedroom is huge for the two of us.   I just zipped the bedroom divider when in bed.

Just a bog standard cheapie from Argos. Like I say, we tend to put it on and warm up the tent while we're still sitting outside. Just before we go to bed we move it over to point towards the bedroom pods. Also, if you pop out to toilet just before bed it feels lovely and warm when you come back inside!! We have occasionally got into bed and left the heater on, but I can't usually get to sleep and end up getting out to turn it off, even though it had a safety cut out. If I'm warm when I get into bed I don't generally have a problem during the night and I'm not one that wears layer upon layer, just my pyjamas, socks if it's particularly cold.

Do you have a carpet in your tent?

I use picnic rugs but they are pretty much the same as tent carpet. Not much fun padding around in bare feet on a freezing cold groundsheet - lol.

I think maybe last night was extra cold and I didn't have enough alcohol insulation because tonight I am sweating lol.
Had a cosy up I'm pj's close to heater an it was fine.
Both hubby and I have been getting over a cold, getting soaked putting tent up aswell as a very windy and noisy night propba ly made me feel a bit fragile.
Wine, cider, pimms and jack helped lol

Similar here Geoff. 1500w, on full, and as I've said before on here, it "takes the chill off" rather than actually heating the tent.
I guess we'll never get the tent up to 18 deg when it's hovering around the zero mark outside!
I too always have a pair of slippers (bog standard from George). Oversized so I can fit a pair of Heatholder socks on too, if need be.

TIP:
These heatholder items I keep harping on about... particularly the socks... don't put them on cold feet. They are insulated. They hold the temperature in... which includes keeping your feet cold, if they're cold to start with!! Warm your tootsies if need be... then put them on!

Just sayin'!

Another Tip: Get an illness and spend some time in hospital. They give you these great socks with grippers on the soles. I think I might still have mine buried in my sock drawer. Im off to have a look.....Yup found em, taking them with me Wednesday. Thanks Mucker.

Years ago I bought a bog standard heater, I think it was an Argos one. It was absolutely fab, had to chuck it away. The two I have don't seem to be as good.
Once in bed, I switch heating off, like you, I don't wear a lot of layers in bed.

I have reverted back to my smaller tent now, as my son doesn't want to go camping now. Heating isn't as much of an issue now winter camping.
