hi

inspired by another thread…. does anyone use em in tents? can't get my head around the ampage they need as campsites are usually restricted to between 10-15amp. is that enough to power a couple?!

cheers

We use one when camping up here in Scotland. We use the one that I've linked you to below. Its good as its electrically split in two halfs which is handy as the mrs often needs it more than me. The only downside is that it requires a plug for each side. It gets very toastie!

http://www.tkqlhce.com/click-1428744-10294381?url=http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/4500829.htm

Both sides at full power is around 300W which is only a current draw of about 1.25A at 240V, so a campsite hookup will easily cope with it.

We used one for the first time this year marvellous heated it on 3 then left it 2 all night, just a normal double. So glad we took it.

I was told by a campsite owner this weekend to use an electric blanket on low throughout a stay. I so wish I'd taken one!

I used one sandwiched between a fleece blanket and a fitted sheet on top of an airbed when I camped during winter, left it on low all night and it was very toasty.

It is redundant now as I have switched to camp bed + SIM combo after the trusted double airbed developed a leak mid trip over Christmas 2011.

We have an electric throw - we use it over knees in evening and on the bed at night

I've used them in a tent, caravan, awning on the air bed, and I've just switched them on in my static, I even have them on the spare beds in the caravan in case mum stays. I couldn't live without them.

We used ours on a campbed with airbeds on top, so don't discard it, you know the old adage, just in case lol

Ha ha! I had camped in winter with the camp bed + SIM combination, and it was so cosy and toasty I did not need to use an electric under-blanket.

We use one.
I think with most you are only supposed to have them set on the low setting if you have it on all night.
