We are taking our 7month old son for his first camping trip this weekend.
Do you have any suggestions on what he should wear to bed? I'm worried he'll get too cold, or hot if I layer him up too much! Any advice would be appreciated :)

Thank you.

grobag, onsie and usual blanket should do the trick, our son is the same age and went on his irst trip last month, we used a vango nitestar baby sleeping bag with a rolled up blanket in the bottom and he stayed warm even though the rest of us froze.

im sure he will love it.

I also bought a couple large bottles of ready made milk and used tablets to sterilise bottles in an old ice cream container worked well.

and a couple spare blankets so he could crawl around without getting damp and muddy.

was our pracice camp before france in august, luckily our 6 year old is a great help and fairly independent.

Hope that helps.

Hi boo, we took our 18 month old last year - I think its all about layers to be honest. Also some nights can be decidedly chilly and some rather muggy - most nights we put him in a fleecy onesie - and a vango nitestar mini sleeping bag - he kept managing to get out of it though (he slept on a double air bed with one of his siblings). I would also recommend a travel cot as they are much more suitable for a 7 month old. Maybe try a higher tog grow bag? and layer up with a blanket? Also if youre on ehu then you can put a heater on low all night provided it has a cut off switch if it falls :) good luck :) itll be fun haha :)

All my children (of which I have 3) have been camping young. The last being only 7 weeks old on his first camping trip. We used the cosytoes off his pushchair (it was a fleece lined one from motercare) to sleep him in with his babygrow and a blanket (and I think a hat which kept coming off). Then just the normal SIM and picnic blanket comb we all use, So he just slept next to us.

Ours have both been camping from about 4 months. We used lots of layers so:
Vest
Babygrow
Fleece onesie
Mittens and hat (these went on after they were asleep!)
Grobag
Nitestar baby (usually wriggled out of this in the night)

Depending on how cold it was, they either slept in a travel cot or in with us. If with us we got ride of the Nitestar.

We took twin babies away years ago with hot water bottles at their feet and they slept all night. They're 8 now and still bring them
