We got a tent from my parents, a great big ridge tent with a green and white striped fly sheet which was of course the peppermint. It died in a gale.

This thread is fascinating! For some reason I have never named my tents or my cars, except for one - an opel kadett in a fetching shade of primrose, that I called 'The Yellow Peril'. Not very PC but it was the 80s...

Naming in retrospect, my first grown-up tent, into which I had to crawl and in which I enjoyed some good Scottish holidays, was mostly purple so I could have called it 'The grape escape' I suppose!

We named our new tent Kevin. It was something to do with him being blue and Blues Clues - it made sense after a couple of bottles of wine! I'm not sure why he's a boy when our caravan was a girl. Who knows?!

It appears it was the first thing he said when his wife told him the price of it.
