Ugh, have purchased a thick double SIM and the bugger is impossible to roll. Have only tried out at home and it so comfy. Not sure if I can face the hassle of rolling it up though. At the moment it takes longer to pack than the tent!
We have single and double SIM's and use the same technique for both, but with the double the only difference is you fold it in half.
Roll once with the valve open, then kneel on the SIM to push as much air out as possible, close the valve and unroll. Then, with the valve still closed, roll again. When fully rolled kneel on the SIM and open the valve to expel the remaining air and retighten the valve.

Thanks guys, I'd read all the gread threads on here about rolling them. It takes me about 20mins to get as much air out as poss. Surely this can't be right!
Shouldn't take that long Zipp. The first roll is just to get a lot of the air out and is more of a loose roll, the second roll is then much easier!

We have a double 7.5cm SIm from outwell, think it's the dreamcatcher. The secret we have found is to use a pump that can also deflate an item as well as inflate. Makes the job a lot easier. The only thing I wonder about is what effect this may have on the internals of the item.
We use one of those double pumps now as we tried a few electric versions and they are poor in comparison. Get far better pressure with the manual pump and its a good workout.
We have a 10mm double vango. We leave it full width and both roll at the same time and dont forget to close the valves when you get to the end!! Then fold in half..roll about half way then open the valves to let the rest of the air out. Close the valves and get that strap around it QUICK!!
Can also be done naked...good fun.(so i heard)
These beds are so good for the comfort but I agree they are hard work to pack up. I think I will try the idea above about using a deflator pump! It has to be easier. Anyone else tried this?

LOL at the very least it would be a bit cooler, I'm roasting by the time I've the thing rolled up.
Loving the suggestion of using a deflator - definately giving that a go.

Could you recommend what deflator pumps fit on the outwell valves?
Thank you!
Hi
We use this one.
We use it for the dreamcatcher and everything else we need to inflate and deflate. The electric ones are not strong enough to get a good pressure.
The good thing about this one is that the pump pipe is at the base and not attached to the handle like a lot which as you can imagine aides only for the pipe to keep coming off....oh and it's cheap!
I saw someone very gently roll their car onto their SIM to deflate it! I don't think I'd fancy trying it myself but it's an option! I usually get my 18stone rugby prop son to roll the SIMs, he's exceptionally good at packing them.
