Hubby cleans ours I simply cnnot be bothered but he is in charge of pegs and he likes them clean. I have to say that they have not been cleaned since my last camp when he did not come
Always clean the worst of the muck off...and as someone else on here has said, give the muckiest most disgusting cow poo covered ones to the cubs/scouts to clean...that'll teach 'em not to hammer a peg into a pile of cow flop.
I'm sorry to say that I'll only clear the worst off, put them in a plastic bag and when I get home stick them on the patio. If it rains, the remaining muck washes off; if sun shines, the soil falls off. Quick wipe and ensure they're dry and back in the bags.
