Hi everyone. I'm new to the forum. Hubby and I have been weekend camping for a few years in our 4 man tent and love it. Each year we buy an addition to the camping stock. Last year we bought a large wind break and this year it is an adventure tarpaulin.
I'm looking for some ideas of how to pitch it with the windbreak. Suggestions and photos most welcome. We're going away this Thursday so giving it a go then.
Not used our (Vango adventure tarp) with a windbreak, but I guess, as they are separate entities, erect them as such? That's what we did with a larger tarp.
Set the windbreak up first, then using separate poles where required, erect the tarp either alongside, or directly above it, as you wish?
Plenty of various tarps here, to maybe give you some ideas...
Got the tent out tonight in the garden to give it an air and wipe down and opened the Vango Tarp. Happy to find it has elastic on one end and fits perfectly over the front of the tent. Going to be a great addition to the camping set up when we head off this week.
What tent do you have, Mrs BRich? I tried that on a Vango Icarus, and as it has flexi-poles, it was squashing the arc of the pole and affecting the front door zippers etc. (I was trying to guy it tightly down to the ground)... Ended up giving up, on that ocassion... and eventually changed the tent!
Not saying it can't be done. I'm sure it can, with the help of tarp poles (to keep any downward pressure off the tent pole).
With a steel/alu poled tent, it will be a doddle, and as you say, that elasticated edge makes life a lot simpler with that sort of set up!
Enjoy... and make sure you take your camera when you go!

We have a hi gear dome tent with arch pole at the front and the tarp fitted just fine. Hubby used a small bungee cord to secure at one end as it didn't fit all the way over. Will be better once we guy it in place when on site. Looking forward to the camp on Thursday now we are a little more water proof as the weather is not looking great at the Lakes on Friday. But fingers are crossed it's not too bad.
Yes camera will be on hand for some pics of my set up.
