Hi,
I'm thinking about the best use of space in our tent and considering using the smallest pod as a storage, portaloo area and getting an inflatable sofa bed in the main area, used as a sofa in the day then once we have put the kids to bed sleep on it at night.
We weigh a combined 140kg max. I'm happy to replenish with a little air every/every other day if need be as we do our current air beds but I would just (obviously) like to avoid punctures. My thinking is it would keep the tent tidier as we have 4 young children and give us somewhere comfy to lounge plus give the toilet a permenant home. But would hate to waste £50ish on something that isn't going to last a while.
Opinions and user reviews appreciated.

My mum has one in her awning, as a sofa u slip down on it (it isnt flock covered) and as a bed u can feel the fold in the middle of the bed, sorry its nt the most positive of reviews but i wouldnt chose them as first choice for bed or sofa. If your happy to remake the bed each night you could always put ur existing bed on top of kids in their pod and pull out on a night? Then you wd still have the pod free for the toilet? You could still buy an inflatable sofa for the living room but might be more fit for purpose then xx

Thank you for replying. I was speaking to my husband last night and we were thinking that the change of use for the pod was the right idea but that the sofa possibly not. Sticking it on top of the kids beds was a better idea than I came up with though, I was thinking we'd just stand it up in the pod in the day. We are going away for two nights in a couple of weeks so we can trial it out before we do our bigger camp. Thanks, sometimes you just need to get these ideas out your head!

Hi, we do exactly what you are planning on doing. We have one of . these We are a fairly heavy duo(!) and find that we do need to top up the air most days, but it's not too much trouble. It's nice to be able to lounge about on something comfy and this one has a nice high back. It's velour so you don't slide on it and when it's folded out as a bed it's massive - king size width. We dont have a problem with the fold in the sections, although I do use a folded out sleeping bag laid on the top (brushed cotton inner side down so that it acts like velcro on the velour, so no slipping), instead of a sheet. We find the bed really comfy and with sleeping bag as a sheet under us, it's really cosy too! hope that helps.

Hi, thank you for your reply, that is the exact one we were thinking of buying so it's good to hear a positive review, especially when you use it in the same scenario. See I'm tempted again now, I think the boys would love it and give us somewhere cosier to read while we wait for them to drop off to sleep.
I'm pretty sold on the new use of the small bedroom now as it makes so much more sense with our family. There is no way I'd go camping without the trusty portipotti and our 4 year old still decides he has too much fun to acknowledge the fact he needs a wee so it does get used in the day, a little indoor privacy and dressing area would be quite a luxury! Thanks :) x

That one looks much better than the one my mum has and a similar price so a steal in comparison, im quite tempted to buy one myself although we've spent enough on camping gear to go abroad all inclusive in a five star hotel haha!xx

Lol I had no will power what so ever! I brought it, got it for £44.50 inc delivery from Charlie's Direct.
So far I'm so pleased with it! It advises on the intex website to inflate it, leave an hour, inflate again due to the fabric stretching, leave ( I over cautiously waited another hour) then use. We had it up for a couple of days. It fits all 4 boys on it comfortably and we had a little lie on it and it's more comfortable than the air bed we used last time so I think we are in for a cushy night sleep. Got it back in its box too!
It goes on it's first camp Friday so fingers crossed no issues and then hopefully the august camp is going to be very comfy!
I'm now banned from buying anything else, but it managed to negotiate another cupboard and camping kitchen stand which we needed! I am getting worried how I'm going to pack this all into 1 car with 6 of us and only a roof box for overspill!
