It seems that I have less space, we have invested in a Anssems GT500 -151 HT trailer, with an existing huge roofboxm and an S Max.
We have added since the last big camp 2 reclining chairs, wardrobe + mini oven, how an earth is it harder to pack now with a trailer I managed to get everything in the car and roof box before.....poor packing I guess.

We were the same, everything used to fit in the car, 2 children and everything we needed. Bought a trailer, and still have car packed, with children just managing to get in back seats around , blankets, pillows, bags etc!!
That's the thing I don't like about camping: having the car packed to the gills and having to distribute stuff so precisely, Rubik's cube fashion. It's why we've alternated between tents, trailer tents, folding campers and caravans. We keep convincing ourselves we prefer the simplicity of tent camping but there's nothing simple about the packing!
I must admit a bit more room passenger wise, but it isn't night and day. We will keep an eye on what is purchased etc so we should keep the increased volume to s minimum.

what I did at first was measure the space inside the car, width, length, height etc. Then do a pretend pack of everything in the lounge using the measurements I had to get an idea If it might fit, usually it didn't.
Geoff good idea and I do that for the roof box. Managed to get to a rainy/sunny Cornwall with all the gear and have settled down with the luxuries the oh likes.

Puts hand up as another who has marked out the size of the trailer in the front room in order to work out how to fit everything in.
I currently have the trailer outside the kitchen door, which makes access to the bins a bit tricky, but it does mean I've done two practice packs since Saturday (as the list of what we are taking keeps changing - I'm happy with a tent, bed, bike, stove and one pan - the rest of the family have higher standards)
