13. Everything takes far longer than normal. Boiling water for tea takes ten minutes. Making dinner can take two hours and even getting water is a task. Experienced campers understand that this is one of the major joys of camping, and enjoy the slower pace of life for a few days.
Very much this! One of the (many) things I love about camping is the drawn out minutiae of just existing. When non campers ask me what I DO while I'm camping, I tell them I often simply...camp. Everything takes longer, but the end result is proportionately rewarding as a result. That's the best coffee and bacon buttie you've ever had. Never has a risotto tasted so good! That shower and change of clothes was like a fountain of youth!
I have related to most of those during my camping experiences in the past.
Now that we are more akin to the Glamping fraternity, numbers 4 and 5 are especially true regarding the pitch next door being packed up and gone while we take an age and only last weekend after a fine forecast on pack up day the heavens absolutely opened!

I agree with Faye Fife. Once up, showered, breakfasted, washed up and made picnic it is approaching 11 am. And yet are we worried. Just get back later for dinner. Everything takes soooo long.
