I have almost packed the trailer ready to go off tomorrow morning on our first family camp since having our two youngest children.
The trailer is full to the top, although it does only have a soft cover so I can pile it a bit higher. I still need to fit on the SIMS, and a large holdall full of clothes. Ideally the food bags were going to go in the trailer too, but I might have to put them in the car.
It looks like a larger trailer or a roofbox is on the to buy' agenda.
We are off to Ashby-de la -Zouch in a rally, of sorts, there will be 7 families meeting up for the first time from an online forum where we met 7 years ago and have chatted online ever since. There have been smaller, local, day-time meets so we are not all complete strangers etc but I am doubly excited to be meeting all of my mummy friends, as well as getting out camping.

I shattered now though: after finishing off the packing... I need to get a lid made for the trailer, that I can padlock on. Then I can leave it packed and just have it chained up to the ground anchor we have under our car port.
We had a fantastic weekend (I have left a review of the site) and it has definitely re-sparked our love of camping.
We had a bit of a cooker malfunction: the damn thing went up in flames! I need to buy a new one before we can camp again. Likewise the legs fell off our ancient table so I could do with trying to replace that too.
Unfortunately our first night was quite disturbed. There was a combination of music and a dj, from a local festival that happened to be on until 2.30am and one of our group members young child kept waking and wailing. The 2nd night was fine. The music was only on in the day and the child was more settled. I think it also helped that I polished off a bottle of wine before going to bed.
The site was absolutely perfect for our meet-up and we are definitely going to book to go again.
Thanks for taking the time to come back and let us know how you got on. Good to hear all went so well. Well apart from the cooker incident. And who needs legs on a table anyway?
