If you are newly married just remember that any noises you make at night can be heard for miles on a campsite.

Good choice of tent for a married couple...you will be needing a "huffy" bedroom on regular occasion! Your set-up allows for a huffy bedroom AND a buffer zone in between! Genius

Hi Chris1984, I've just purchased my 1st tent too! Excited but a little scared. I want to get lots of stuff to take but my other half keeps reminding me it's not "glamping".
I'm trawling these forums and already have picked lots of tips.
Enjoy.

Mmmmm, famous last word on here I am afraid ..... all it takes is to look at some pics posted on here and it is a case of "I want that" and the spending goes up as well as then needing a roofbox or trailer to carry it all in.

Good advice is plentiful on here, lots of leg pulling too.

You will soon be needing a roof box or trailer, a bigger car etc......................it's a bottomless pit this camping malarkey

Hope all new campers enjoy their new found hobby

Lol at least I know it's normal to spent a fortune (in my dreams ) on camping accessories! Actually I'm determined to keep it minimal we don't have a large car so warmth and something to cook on are my priority .....at the moment :)

We started at minimalist camping and ended up at full scale glamping and are now heading back down to a happy medium.Ended up with a huge tent, carpets, inflatable settees, furniture etc etc and then realised just how long it was actually taking to set up and dismantle!!!
So now we go for the best tent we can afford which must also be relatively easy to pitch for two---just bought a 4-man airtent and soon having 5mt bell tent.To cover all eventualities.
As for gear..no compromise on sleeping comfort..a 10cm double sim and decent quality sleeping bag
The furniture has gone and replaced with a small fold-flat table and 2 decent camping chairs. The huge lanterns are swapped for small led lights.A hook-up is still required--or I would be a solo camper!
Still have a 3 burner gas stove on a nice stand and alovely 6 man folding table from costco. All this stops under the gazebo surrounded by windbreaks..and obviously the 240v cool-box can be connected to the hook-up--as can the fan heater...and my lap-top.
I have kept a selection of tents back --just in case--might come in handy?
So..as I was saying..we are definitely heading back to minimalist
