Well this summer we did it. Myself and my 3 children packed are new box trailer 1st time using the new trailer. i was very scared. Not much experience driving with a trailer. We headed up to Scotland for 16 days.
1st stop we went to Alloa, Clackmannanshire staying at the woods caravan park. Took about 6hrs 30mins from Bristol. We had such a great time here exploring the local area. The weather over all was good. we did have rain but nothing to bad. We went to the highland games. That was brilliant. From here we drove up to fort Williams and did lots of tourist stuff like the harry potter train and of course we went up nessie hunting.
But the best part was the white beach we spent 3 days on the beach.
The people we meet were lovely and we had such an amazing time. We had a few small problems but we over came them and it has been our best camping trip to date. Everyone was saying how brave i was to take this trip on my own with the kids and shocked to hear i even towed a trailer so far but we smashed it. After the long 12 hour drive home with only one stop we can not wait to go back to Scotland. We did so much but so little to and there is so much more we want to see and do.

Well done in joining the grown ups.
My wife does the driving and towing of the caravan and has done for ages. Every year we do about 3000 miles touring in France with no problem. Through the towns rather than using the motorways.
I was naturally born to be chauffeured and she drives a car no matter in which seat she is sitting.
Our only problems are that she does not like me sitting in the back and I get annoyed that she will not wear a peaked cap.

Done that ok, now do France, SW coast is nice Jul/Aug. Do a bit of research, it's easy & if the € stays low against the £, cheap.
