six weeks in England coming up. Just have to arrange house sitter and insurance and replace passport and I think I need to write a list... Wouldn't be good to get to the sirport to discover I had forgotten something like booking the flights.

Don't feel bad about it, just class it as a break from camping for a short while.
I may be doing without a camping holiday myself this year.

My wife left me in July last year and I had a getaway week to Malta in Nov/Dec time.
This year have a new girlfriend who has never camped before and so we have booked a Sun Holiday caravan holiday for end of May and a Scotland Lodge Holiday for July (hot tub and sauna included)

It is not as though you are getting rid of all your gear and it will still be there if you decide on weekends away or camping later on in the year or next year.

Hey ST1100, sorry to hear the news about your wife but well done on finding someone else! Yeah you're right, and that's exactly how i'm looking at it now. After our holidays last year we decided that a nice sun holiday somewhere nice was deserved after all the wet weather we had camping. And yeah as you say, haven't sold any of the gear and don't intend too so not feeling so bad now. Just got to exercise a bit more now to get a beach fit bod haha
