DK, We are heading to france in july, family of four in our new tent, can you advise me of anything extra I should take, just saw your note, always take extra guy and pegs, all I have is the tent and standard stuff it comes with. We have SIMS, lights, carpet, footprint, bags, folding table n chairs. I've seen comments about different peg types, I've also purchased a wind break.
Thanks
its an inflatable tent, not sure if there's places for extra guys n pegs ,,, thanks for any tips
George

Apology to the OP for thread-jacking in advance.
Here are the pegs I carry:
* Delta Groundanchors (yellow nylon)
* 9in Angled V pegs (from the likes of Ronnie Sunshine)
* 6in Angled V pegs (again, from the likes of Ronnie Sunshine)
* 6mm Stainless Steel (SS) hook/rock pegs (also from Delta Groundanchors, much stronger than the standard hook pegs that come with a tent/canopy/tarp/etc.)
* Delta Rock (no prize in guessing where to get them)
* 8mm SS T-bar rock pegs (also from Delta Groundanchors)
* A set of Rock Pegs purchased from a shop that sells fishing gears
* Peggy Pegs (need a power drill for these)
* Mushroom pegs for the cheapo tarp that serves as a primary groundsheet (also useful for holding down the interlocking mats if used)
With the above, I am covered for most ground conditions, except for very soft/wet/sandy soil.
Apart from spare guys and gliders, I also carry the following:
* Claw Hammer
* Clingon clips (to make extra attachment points on a tarp/canopy etc.)
* Extra long peg remover (makes the job a lot less strenuous, again, from Delta Groundanchors)
* Gorilla tape
* Tenacious tape
* Power drill (for the Peggy Pegs)
For gliders, I highly recommend Clamcleats Line-Lok CL260, as they are much easier to use, especially when wet. I also recommend their reflective guys to minimise the trip hazards.

Reflective Guy in 30m reel (much better value)
9in Angled Steel Pegs
Hopefully, others such as Mucker who has a more comprehensive peg list will come along and offer their advice.
Think I have covered everything.
Hope this helps.
Have fun camping in France.

Sorry about the thread diversion, etiquette learning curve for me
Off to buy some pegs and clips, I've added a wardrobe and stove tonight.... our two boys have been rolling around in their sleeping bags today, mum confiscated the zip torches, batteries can be easily swallowed
