Any advice on beds!! Wife suffers from bad back so need a plan so we don't miss out on camping!! Was thinking air bed with memory foam topper!! Any tips please?

We use Air Beds on single Camp Beds,sleep better than I do at home.

We've found airbeds are really comfy but unreliable - seems to be the luck of the draw as to whether you'll get one that stays up all night.

We tried camp beds with memory foam toppers - still found them quite hard.

This year we've bought a 10cm double SIM for on top of a double camp bed. If that's not comfy we may as well give up & sleep on the floor.

Camp bed + SIM for me since my trusted double airbed developed a leak mid trip over Christmas 2011, and I do not wish to be without a bed in the middle of nowhere.

The sleep quality of a camp bed + SIM is far superior than an airbed.

I use a fitted flannel sheet to keep the SIM in place.

6 leg fishermans so camp bed. Extra wide and came with a memory foam topper in a fleece cover. As if the bed wasn't padded enough... A topper? Comfy as you like.

We normally have SIM on top of airbed but Mrs tried my full length Exped down mat over easter & it's now her mat of choice.

Don't skrimp on your sleeping,it's the most important part of your holiday ( it helps deal with the worst of the british weather). were now on £250+/side & holidays come rain/shine/frost or snow are so much better.

Of course a decent tent is a must.

Oh, our kit at the mo, exped megamat 10 + snugpak softie 12 until we find we need better.

Double camp bed with 5cm sim on top. Best nights sleep I ever had in a tent and almost as comfy as the bed at home. The height of the camp bed makes it much easier to get in and out of bed too!

when we had our tent I bought 4 outwell self inflating mats the shop didn't have 4 the same so I got 2 x 7.5 cm and 2 x 5 cm we found the 7.5 to be very comfy

We have one of these each

With a sim on top. We have also adulterated the legs by chopping the feet off, putting the feet on some piping, then when we set up we put the pipe on the leg struts and we have proper height beds.

With duvet, pillows, blankets and fitted sheets which you can get in bespoke sizes online which fit the sim exactly.
