Thank you, just wondering really if there's was any definite do and don'ts
Here are my 'dos for a new tent camper with children':
Get a footprint and carpet.
Practice pitching before you go.
Peg out all of the guys, every time. Use a mallet.
Get a carbon monoxide alarm.
Ensure you can sleep in warmth and comfort.
Get chairs which don't do your backs in.
Take some Tenacious tape and >5 metres of spare guy line.
Use a doormat.
Expect everything to take longer.
Pretty much everything is down to personal preference and you'll work out your own preferences over time - which is part of the fun of camping. RE cooking though, one or two suitcase stoves and a non-stick pan set mean you can reliably feed your family under most circumstances.
For the 'don'ts', refer to the campsite rules.

Put a wool blanket over your air bed ( your body weight will squash the sleeping bags insulating fill / fluff which is what traps the heat letting your body heat escape into the air within the air bed.).. A decent insulative layer under you is worth 3x more under than over you ... If that's not clear and you have a tile floor in your kitchen pile duvets over you laid on the bare floor. . bet you can't get warm ;)

Was thinking of getting a cadac Safari chef 2?????
We have the Carri Chef & it's great. As well as using the griddle we've also bought a pizza stone & a roasting dish. The paella pan is next on my hit list...

We've got the 24 litre Outwell Ecocool electric cool box, very good. But you need to bear in mind the electric cool boxes only cool to about 20 degrees below ambient temperature (think the Outwell is 25 deg below ambient) so if it's 30 degrees in the tent they will only cool to about 10 degrees. Not so much a problem in the UK but worth considering if you ever camp on the continent.

Guy in go outdoors tried to sell us a Coleman xtreme 3 cooler? Anyone got any experience of using these please?
Coleman Xtreme 3 is excellent. Keep in the shade and cover with a wet towel. It may keep things cool for 5 days.
Pre-chill with frozen 2 ltr water bottles 2-3 days before setting off. Use fresh frozen bottles for camping.
Bottles were still frozen after camping at Easter w/end.
