Only complaint about ours was the large grey straps front and rear. When the wind blew the 2 pieces of the strap would "clap" together. Really annoying so had to tape them up.
Mine was the same bighead but if you take a little bit of tension out of the strap so they aren't taught up to each other, this won't happen. Hope it helps
after wondering why there was a powerful motorbike constantly revving its engine right outside our tent we realised that if you put a couple of twists in the front and back storm straps before pegging out it completely eliminated the horrendous noise they made in the wind...

Well I've had a rather pleasant surprise this week. My dealer has emailed that Vango have sent me a 2017 Illusion 800XL to swap for my 2016 model. Credit where it is due I was critical of their customer service over the summer with the issues we had but that is a nice gesture and an early Christmas present. Roll on the spring!
Ours failed and I hadn't known anything about the recall. It flooded and ruined my iPad when the water washed into the tent. With the help of other Campers we washed and dried all our clothes and sleeping bags. People helped me dry the carpet and squeegee the water out. Then two days later the beams burst out of the seams and looked like huge hernias. The tent collapsed on one side and we had to go home a day early. Rang the vango helpline and nobody picked up.
Got home and contacted Vango again who told me to take the tent back to the shop we bought it from. They returned it to Vango three weeks ago and we've heard nothing at all.
Had to cancel our second camping trip of the summer hols as we had no tent.
So terribly disappointed and feel utterly ripped off and sad. The beams were dangerous when the seams split too and kept blowing into the tent hitting me in the face and sending tables flying.
Just absolutely awful.
