We've forgotten various bits of electrical stuff needed using our appliances abroad, but easy to replace once we get there.
Most memorably though, I forgot to MOT the car. Realised something might be amiss as the ferry left Dover but couldn't actually confirm it until we managed to get someone to go to the house and check the paperwork. Husband insisted it was fine, so we carried on until we got to our overnight hotel stop in Dijon. Car was not MOTed...which meant the insurance was also not valid. Phoned the insurance company who said we basically had to get it MOTed.
So we booked another night in the hotel, and husband got up very, very early, drove to Calais, got ferry back, got car MOTed in Dover complete with all the camping gear and a roofbox, got the ferry back and drove all the way back to Dijon, whilst me and the kids hung around a travel hotel all day. Cost us about £500 extra.
Not my finest hour.

We forgot the sleeping bags once (well my hubby did). We were in Lincolnshire. It was cheaper for DH to drive home and get them than it was to buy 4 new good sleeping like the ones we had at home.
