My living room is not big enough to pitch a new tent in, even if it is raining outside.

Well obviously. Test pitching of tents is best done in the ballroom. Ideally your butler should do it but if it's a large tent then he may need assistance.

Sorry, but the dimensions of your living room would have been clearly stated in the deeds. Had you have had the sense to come on here first, we could have advised that you buy a house with suitably sized rooms. Ok, you may have had to pay a little extra, or even double, but that's the nature of the beast.
We may also have commented on the cleanliness of your bathroom, but that's a whole different topic!
Remember... UKCS is for real life, not just for holidays!
Having said all that, I must confess we have to park the car outside and carry all our gear to our tent drying room... Lack of planning on my part!

I see another avenue farmers could utilize to earn cash, allowing campers to pitch new/wet tents in those barns that sit unused over the Sumner months. Cause we all know the ball room is in constant use during the deb season.

Yep did that very thing this week could'nt stop myself even though I knew I was causing myself heartache. The new tent was calling me to unpack it and being hypnotised by my new purchase I had to do as I was told. Did I get it packed away after examining it!! Well you know the answer.

Haha I know that feeling well, my new tent keeps screaming at me to get it out and have a look. Even though I know it won't fit in my garden, I keep looking at it and thinking "hmmmmm, maybe it will that way "

Simply take out all the furniture! Tents are more important than chairs.

That wouldnt work cos thats where farmers keep their 20foot chickens, the ones who think their in aeroplanes cos when they look down the normal chickens look so small.
They also make pigs smoke and obviously pigs arent trained to extinguish cigarettes so the tents might catch fire.

Seye - I couldn't get this back in the bag either!! Mainly because it was too big to lie out properly to fold and roll. Ooops.

Apparently Sunday is going to be dry, so I'm going to have a proper go in the garden then.

This afternoon is pretty nice but I'm having a hard time convincing my wife what a good idea it would be to temporarily take down the washing line to try and set up the tent. Either I'll get up early tomorrow and sneak it down before she can pit one bit of clothing on the line or find a spare bit of ground. Pfffft

I discovered we can't put our tent up in the garden to dry it last week, as there's no room to put the carbon poles through the canvas. So I pegged it out flat then opened the front door of the tent and filled it with our dining room chairs to lift the canvas to get some air flow. It worked a treat, dry from soaking wet in about three hours.

I suffered from the same problem...so an easy solution was found...have a double garage built (honestly). This worked for a while-however it has now become " clogged up" with camping equipment and other goodies and so my latest tent purchase is back in the house.
