I am looking for a bit of feedback or advice on if there would be of any interest for hiring a trailer for there camping trips at a small cost?
I have converted my Erde 102 trailer last year to give me more height so I could fit all of our ever growing amount of camping stuff inside the trailer rather then ramming it into our car.
I have used it once for our camping trip to Devon last year and it was great, it just hasn't moved since which is just a shame.
I have advertised this for sale but it has not got any interest and its just sitting here doing nothing, possibly it could help someone out with there camping trip?
I am based in Newcastle Upon Tyne.
Any feedback on this would be greatly appreciated, also sorry in advance if I have posted this in the wrong place.
I will try and post some photos of the trailer when I work it out how to
Have you put it on Ebay? Prices seem half decent on there if listed correctly. Just don't fall into the trap of putting a reserve on it or high starting price. You'll get it sold and at a half decent price.
Yep, bang it on eBay, this time of the year you should get at least £100 for it.
Our Trailer sits in the garage for 48 weeks of the year, with the camping gear stored in it, apart from the canvas.
We only go camping once each year and are away for 3 weeks on that trip.
I would not bother hiring the trailer out, two much of a fath, and you don't want to over do the miles on a trailer using 8" wheels, otherwise you will be replacing the bearings sooner than planned.
How come you were looking at selling, when you said the Trailer was great.
I have tried selling it on Gumtree and have listed it on here but not a sausage, Ebay was going to be next option. I will list it next week when I am home and hopefully it will find a new home.
The trailer is great and the cover is brand new but it has to go as we bought an Daxtar 147 at a good price so I can buy even more stuff!
I know that feeling only too well Francais, got to keep an eye out for something bigger and better!
Just ordered the steel to raise the height to of the trailer to 90cm (maximum height I will make it). Been also looking at what goodies I can purchase to fill her up. I have been on a leash not to buy anything for a while due to the space but that's going to change.
Yep after reading advice on here back in 2009, I decided to go for "A" Frame 13" Wheel 750kg Trailer as my minimum spec, it did stretch my budget at the time, but it has served us well this last 8 years.
Anything bigger would have meant braked, which would have been way beyond my budget at the time.
I always check the weight before we set of to France, and last July it tipped the scales at 540kg which is comfortably within the 660kg limit for the car, although at least another 100kg of kit goes in the car.
There is just the two of us, and we reached our nivarna in camping kit some years back.
