With our ever increasing list of things we take we desperately needed to save space, as we are quilt campers (can't stand sleeping bags) we really were struggling with space, so we decided to buy the space saver bags.

After a practice pack of all of our bulky stuff - clothes, quilts, pillows and blankets I can say they are going to work perfectly for us, it does exactly what is says on the tin, only problem now, if I let Mrs Scooby know just how much space we have actually saved I'm worried she's going to start wanting to take even more!!!!

Scooby.

Im always looking to save space, but wouldnt you have to take a hoover with you for when you pack up on site to suck the air out? Or am I looking at the wrong things?

It depends on which ones you buy, some are just vacuum others are either vacuum or you can roll the air out. The ones we've just bought come with a hand pump so you can pump the air out. We also take electric so our electric pump acts as the hoover.

We take a rechargeable handheld vacuum. We use it to take the air out of the space bags. It also comes in handy for hoovering out the cabin of the FC. It works for long enough even if we dont have EHU.

Had a few of these over the years for indoors i might add and most always come back up afetr a while but i did find a decent brand that has stayed flat for well over a year and its the type that does NOT need a hoover, you just slide the usual white bit along a few times then roll it up and air comes out via a one way valve, can't tell you make yet as it's in the bedroom and if i go in there at this time of night Mrs will kill me, but i'll post back later today with name of product.

We forgot our vacuum the first time we took ours but discovered that you can get them nearly as flat if you slowly walk across them on your knees to push all the air out.
