We are taking our 18mth old grandson camping soon and I am looking for alternatives to taking the travel cot with us. Any suggestions? I have seen the little life snuggle pod and other similar baby air beds, has anyone used these and if so what are your thoughts.? Thank you

We have used air beds that look almost like a dingy- they inflate flat like a mattress and have a separate blow up outer that stops the little ones rolling off/out.
We have had both Kampa and Sunncamp models around £15 each,
Aldi also had some recently.
Our kids have used them home and away, from around 2yrs and now at 5yrs old are still using them and sleeping well, so well they were chosen over a 'proper' bed only last week!

We got our 19 month old one of these, intergrated SIM. Great because they sleeping bag stays on the mattress.

Took our son at this age.

He slept on a roll mat with a flat cotbed sheet wrapped around it (well the end he was). On top he slept in a baby sleeping bag/grobag the same as he does at home. I did have a couple of small blankets ready but they were not needed.

We did look at mini travel cots but we would not use it enough to make it worthwhile. This he could roll off but not suffocate or fall.

Now all 3 of ours sleep on roll mats together in a 3 man pod.

We used the Kampa bed as seen here http://www.kampa.co.uk/air-beds/airlock-junior-bumper-blue
for both our 2 and it was great. The sleeping bag stays on because of the sides and it doubled as a bouncy castle!

We had the kampa one when ds1 was young - it is quite wide though (because of the bumpers).

I'd recommend the Kampa version also. Sold so many in the past and feedback was brilliant here is the link
