We've had this tent for about 3 years and used it about 6 times. Its getting on in life now I think but its done us proud. We absolutely love it but on the last holiday we had a mishap. Or 2 to be precise.
On putting it all down it was bloomin windy. From this there is a small tear on the roof area near the front (middle of the roof panel if I remember correct) and a much larger one approx 22 inches long running length ways about 3 inches away from one of the center "ribs" (not sure on actual name)
I strongly believe both problems can be sorted with some "Tenacious tape" which is what we planned to do.
We have just bought a new airbeam tent as my partner is only small and we plan to do a lot more camping this year as just our family, so we would struggle to put the Royal up alone.
I'm near Bridgnorth so if anyone wants a punt on a MASSIVE tent that's going to cost the price of some tenacious tape and a couple of packs of pegs then come and get it.
We're gutted its got to go but would rather someone got some use from it rather than it going to the tip.
If, of course after its run its life with you then they come up on ebay quite regular.
Wow that is an amazing tent no wonder your gutted. Pity about miss hap because after only six trips I'm sure it would have lasted a good few more years. Was at southerness last week and spoke to a camper with an airbeam tent pretty nifty. You will need to let us know how you get on with yours when you get one.
