Just bought a second hand sunncamp spectre 800 , been after this tent for a while as has the extension for this but use on a Vango Verona 6

Seller said excellent condition , only used twice , was his sisters ... It wasn't pitched , so no pics , only of it in bag , plus opened out on the floor ...when I got there Tuesday , I opened it up , checked as much as I could ...
Just opened it out on my drive as much as I could , found the white material , which I think is the ceiling as there's a black plastic hook , it's covered in black patches !!!!

So obviously packed away damp ...

What's the way on this ?
Seen a few old posts with using Milton strerilising fluid watered down , and giving it a good going over , then re proofing outside with fabsil ..any other suggestions greatly appreciated ...
Gutted really as been after this tent for a while as said , and a new one is a little dear ... This was £170 .00 and guess I took a gamble with not seeing it up 😐

If they've said excellent condition, I'd be sending photos to the seller complaining. I know you looked best you can and there probably isn't much you can do, but you never know, they might be alright about it? Sorry but I don't have any suggestions for cleaning, but I hope it works out okay for you.

I have only ever used IOSSO mould and mildew remover. Not cheap but made for the job. Cleaned it very successfully and I didn't have to rep roof.

You use so little it will last years, we still have 8/10s of the small pot left.

Yes Milton does work when we had our tent we opened it up one summer and had a few spots on the door. I just rubbed the spots with Milton they didn't really go but the mould didn't get any worse in the years we had it.

Milton stops the mould growth, but it will not remove the mould spots.

Well I e got tent out yesterday in garden , no chance of pitching though , far to big !
Completely opened out , yes it does look like it has had very little use , still got that crisp newness to it ... The white roof section , is where the probs are ... Blackish patches here and there , black spots here and there , seeing from the outside of it , so probably worse inside , but it's thin material so I don't know until it goes up ...

Couldn't really see if there's any on the green , window areas look fine and like new , and in my Exp , this is where you would see it as they do sweat if curtains are not rolled up to dry them ...they look fine ....

Fingers crossed its just the roof area , and tbh now , it don't look that bad and I think it's treatable ...

Yes , I've bought the Losso , also Milton , a bag of salt and lemon juice , 2.5 of fabsil
I did contact the seller , he was apologetic and asked for pics which I sent ... He was happy to refund me the price of what the materials are going To cost to try and correct it , was about £50 about ...so was happy to give me this back

I plan to do this next week end at my friends as he has the room to pitch it .

My plan is to mix Milton , salt and kemon juice with warm water and clean the inside ... Then use the Losso on the marks after ... Then fabsil outside once dry

Wish me luck that I get this back ...looks a cracking tent by the way and its huge !!!

I would use the IOSSO first, it is made for the job and likely to be the kindest option on the tent fibres. Save the other stuff for last resort.

I would be prepared to use IOSSO more than once before I resorted to bleach (Milton) and all the other stuff you have armed yourself with.

Good luck!

Well got tent pitched , yes it does look like very very little use , the White roof sections is where the offending marks are ... Well we thought and does look like mould spot patches , but a closer look , it looks like something has walked across it with dirty paws !!! But all the same , it won't come out ...iosso wouldn't shift it or anything else , so it's well in the fibres ...a few marks inside which did come out ..

So maybe a dog with dirty paws walked over it when it was down I don't know ...it's almost like black greasy marks .... These won't be seen with extension on as that flaps over the roof

Apart from that , it's all as new , ....

Re proofed it with fabsil , all dry and back in bag
