Me 64 wife 61, we mostly use our caravan but I still enjoy tent camping and have done so for 50+ years which I now do solo or accasionally with my son.
I have used mostly backpacking style tents as that was my main hobby.
Past few years decided to get a tent than I could stand up in but not too big.
I bought a Vango Aura 200 (old verion) which is great but its a sort of semi geodesic design and the two long poles which go from front to back can be a b****r to set up for me now.
I then thought I would get a standard 3 pole tunnel tent and bought a Vango Calder 400.
It is a bit easier pole wise but still hard work to erect on your own, once you get one end up its ok from there on. Maybe the fact it was the hottest day this summer didn't help. I have only erected it once and as I looked the youngest on site amongst caravan and motorhome folks and the only tent camper, there was no offers of help.
I don't expect or rely on help but will graciously accept if offered.
Having poor lung function doesn't help either so will give the bigger tents a rest till next year and continue with my smaller tents which I can erect in 5- 10 mins on my own and need less gear as well, which I prefer.
I use a tarp to get some outside space with the smaller tents, if the weather allows.

It is a fool who has to say something.
We are both 57 this time & just going back to tent camping again. We had a folding camper, but decided to sell it last month. Going away this w/e and can't wait!
63yrs here and off camping at least once a month all through the year...Mostly backpacking on public transport as I don't have a car..
Can't carry everything on my back so use a fishermans trolly to carry the heavy stuff...A few piddling health probs so have to pace myself when walking to sites which can be a bit of a bind at times....But love being out in the green stuff and hope to continue for years to come yet...
Jelboy.
